Installation 01
- Developer: Soon Studios
- Publisher: Soon Studios
- Platforms: PC
- Release: TBD
If you enjoyed the days of jumping online and playing Halo 3 with your best buds then that experience may soon make a return. Installation 01 is a fan-made FPS that is based on the Halo series while developed using the Unity game engine. Players will find that the title will resemble Halo 3 along with the first two main installments to the Halo franchise, Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2.
Being a fan-made game, there could be some concern as to the legality of this project. However, Soon Studios has been in communication with both 343 Industries and Microsoft so it doesn’t look like we will see this game get killed off prior to its release. However, the big question that most of us are wondering is if this studio will be able to deliver the game within 2019.
Borderlands 3
- Developer: Gearbox Software
- Publisher: 2K Games
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: September 13, 2019
Borderlands is a successful video game franchise though despite having a following, we haven’t had a third main installment since Borderlands 2 launched in 2012. However, in a surprise announcement during PAX East, we got the announcement of Borderlands 3 which is slated to launch in September of this year. We haven’t got too many details about the game at the moment, but apparently, this time around there will be four new vault hunters and two cult leader antagonists to deal with. This game is likely going to have plenty of information roll out during E3 of this year but so far the trailer footage revealed so far looks to be the traditional gameplay we’ve come to know and love from the franchise.
If you’re familiar with the franchise then you know that the Borderlands video game franchise works best with multiplayer. The same cooperative gameplay is going to make a return and it looks like that the development studio is attempting to provide cross-play. Right now it appears to be unconfirmed, but being such a popular co-op game series we imagine that this would be a very welcomed feature.
Crackdown 3
- Developer: Reagent Games
- Publisher: Microsoft Studios
- Platforms: PC, XBO
- Release: February 22, 2019
Crackdown 3 is the next main installment to the Crackdown franchise. We’ve been waiting for this game for quite awhile and now it seems that the game will finally hit store shelves on February 22, 2019. Once again, The Agency will be facing against a terrorist organization, one that has this time killed the power for the entire world.
There will be cooperative gameplay for friends who wish to go through the game. With support of up to four players, Crackdown 3 will only be capable of multiplayer through online. Unfortunately, for those looking for a local co-op experience, you’ll be out of luck.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the next installment to the Wolfenstein franchise. From what we know so far, the game will take place during the 1980s where the protagonists are the twin daughters of former leading hero BJ.
Stepping into the shoes as both daughters can be a challenge so developers Machine Games has developed the title to allow a cooperative gameplay experience. There haven’t been too many details released so far about the game, but the Wolfenstein: Youngblood is slated to launch at some point in 2019.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
- Developer: Massive Entertainment
- Publisher: Ubisoft
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: March 15, 2019
The Division was a big title for players to go through and now a sequel is underway. Overall, the game will take place just a few months shy of a year after the first installment. Players are once again taking on the role of an agent within The Division as they now embark on a new journey in establishing order caused by the corrupt government.
Civil war is breaking out once again and with cooperative gameplay such a big component from the first installment, players can expect the game to offer co-op capabilities in the upcoming sequel. Likewise, there will be a few new game modes to enjoy as well such as the introduction of Raids.
For those who mainly want to stick with the story aspect of the game, Ubisoft has revealed that there will be three DLC expansion packs released in the first year. Each pack will bring in new areas and story to enjoy but best of all, each pack will be completely free.
