- Developer: Nintendo
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: 2019
There is no shortage of video game installments to The Legend of Zelda franchise and as a surprise reveal during Nintendo’s February Direct upload in 2019 we got the reveal of a new remake from the series. For those who owned an original Game Boy, you may have enjoyed The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Now you can prepare to enjoy that game all over again in a massive overhaul on the Nintendo Switch. This series is a well-known action-adventure title where players take on the role of Link and essentially saves the day from evil. With so many installments released, it’s not too surprising to see Nintendo look back at some of the classics that haven’t had its time in the spotlight in a number of years. As mentioned, this game is a perfect action-adventure that plays like the traditional old school Zelda titles. The game is done in a top-down perspective and given a more cartoonish style visuals. Throughout the game, players will be solving puzzles along with clearing dungeons and fighting bosses, much like how the series is known for.
Days Gone
- Developer: SIE Bend Studio
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Platforms: PS4
- Release: 2019
Days Gone is an upcoming action-adventure title surrounding a post-apocalyptic world setting. Originally, the game was slated to launch in 2018 but it has since been pushed back until at some point in 2019.
Players take on the role of a man named Deacon St. John, who was once a former bounty hunter but now Deacon will have to use his skills for a whole different purpose. Instead of tracking down and bringing in the wanted, Deacon will need to use his finely tuned abilities as a means to survive this zombie apocalypse. The game will play out somewhat similarly with the zombies found in Dying Light. Depending on the time of day and the conditions could result in harder creatures to deal with. However, players will have the ability to complete the different objectives with however they see fit such as going in guns blazing or using the stealth technique.

Dying Light 2
- Developer: Techland
- Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: 2019
During Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, we got a look at the upcoming installment of Dying Light. Dying Light 2 will take place fifteen years into the zombie apocalypse where most of humanity has fallen and only small shells of society continue to fight for survival.
Players are introduced to a small city within Europe which acts as a safe haven from the zombie threats that lurk outside. However, this city is filled with butting factions leaving players with the ability to work with different factions or pin them against each other. As a result, players will have more freedom of choice that will result in gameplay narrative consequences. Combat still mainly revolves around fast-paced gunplay and melee weapons with zombies being more lethargic during the day.
