Little Nightmares: The Residence DLC – All Collectibles Locations Guide

February 26, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Unlock creepy concept art and an achievement / trophy in the final DLC for Little Nightmares. Here’s where to find all the flotsam bottles.

In the third DLC for Little Nightmares, you’ll be able to unlock even more artwork (and an achievement / trophy) for finding all five bottle collectibles hidden through the diabolical Residence. The Lady’s home is a pretty sinister place, and if you want to see everything this final DLC has to offer, including some behind-the-scenes images showing off how this opulent area was originally designed, you’ll want to track down and open the flotsam collectibles.

Flotsam collectibles are, essentially, messages in a bottle that are littered about the Residence, usually in places you wouldn’t normally look. With a keen eye, you’re pretty likely to find at least one or two — but finding them all can get pretty tricky, so we’re going to walk you through where and when these green bottles appear. To actually “collect” a flotsam bottle, you’ll need to pick the bottle up. That will automatically cause the kid to pop the cork and release the contents.

There are 5 pieces of flotsam in The Residence DLC. For each flotsam you find, you’ll unlock special concept art in the gallery. Get all five to unlock an achievement / trophy. Pick up the bottle to ‘collect’ it.

  • Bottle #1: Early in the Chapter, you’ll drop down into a room with a fireplace. Next, you’ll have to walk through a dark hallway with two rooms in the background. Enter the second background door, then jump onto the table using the chair to reach the first bottle up high on the bookshelf. This is all before you enter the main residence area.
  • Bottle #2: Go to the top floor and open the right door by solving the light / flashlight puzzle on the eyes. After that, you’ll have to solve another puzzle with the ugly portraits. In the room with the statue you need to collect, ignore it and enter a hole in the wall further to the right. You’ll enter a small crawlspace with the second bottle.
  • Bottle #3: After collecting the key, use it to unlock the left door on the top floor of the residence. After unlocking the door, you’ll enter a narrow hallway. Go into the foreground to find a bottle along the left wall.
  • Bottle #4: Continuing through the left-hand door from the top floor, you’ll encounter darkness monsters that spawn everywhere in a room with a crank in the center. Turn the crank to lower the secret escape wall. This leads to a room with a piano — climb onto the grand piano and run across the keys (it might take a few tries) and a compartment will open in the background wall. The painting will slide up. Jump into the secret compartment to get another bottle.
  • Bottle #5: Late in the DLC, after placing all three statues and unlocking the first-floor door on the right, you’ll encounter the Lady looking into a mirror. After a short cutscene, she’ll scream — run through the room full of mannequins to the long hallway. Instead of running forward, run into the open door on the right. The last bottle is in the front-right corner of this optional room.

And that’s it. Check out the gallery from the main menu to see all the concept art you’ve unlocked.
