Gears of War: Judgment is the first chapter in a trilogy of prequels to the original Gears of War trilogy, which has by now become the equivalent of Star Wars Episodes 4 to 6, in Gears terms. It's being co-developed by Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly and Epic Games and is set for an Xbox 360 exclusive release on March 19.
The game is set to star Baird and Cole as its main characters and takes place during the events of Emergence Day, in which the planet of Sera is attacked from under the earth by the indigenous Locust. Together, the two are conscripted by the Coalition of Ordered Governments and form Kilo Squad to deal with the threat of the Locust.
Like the original trilogy, Gears of War: Judgment is made up of a host of multiplayer modes and a full fledged single-player campaign that's expected to offer both solo and cooperative gameplay for a single player to go it alone or do so with a friend who takes on the role of Baird's buddy, Cole.
