Tracking down and recruiting characters to join your party has forever been a staple of RPG’s and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is no exception. It can be a quest itself to keep track of how many of the games 30+ characters you have recruited, which is why we created a guide detailing how, when and where to get all of them. Read below to get started.
Act 1
- Clair
Recruited after defeating the thieves in the Thieves’ Shrine interior.
Starting Class — Pegasus Knight - Faye
Recruited in Ram Village just before Alm leaves with Lukas to join the Deliverance.
Starting Class — Villager - Forsyth
After reaching the end of the Deliverance hideout you will be able to talk to Forsyth and recruit him.
Starting Class — Soldier - Gray
Recruited in Ram Village just before Alm leaves with Lukas to join the Deliverance. Automatically joins your party.
Starting Class — Villager - Kliff
Recruited in Ram Village just before Alm leaves with Lukas to join the Deliverance.
Starting Class — Villager - Lukas
Joins your party after Mycen refuses to help Zofia. Automatically joins your party.
Starting Class — Soldier - Python
After reaching the end of the Deliverance hideout you will be able to talk to Python and recruit him.
Starting Class — Archer - Silque
Recruited after defeating the thieves in the Thieves’ Shrine interior.
Starting Class — Cleric - Tobin
Recruited in Ram Village just before Alm leaves with Lukas to join the Deliverance. Automatically joins your party.

Recruited before you leave the Priory.

Starting Class — Cleric - Kamui
Recruited after defeating the Pirate King Barth and recruiting Valbar in the Pirate Throne interior.
Starting Class — Mercenary - Leon
Recruited after defeating the Pirate King Barth and recruiting Valbar in the Pirate Throne interior.
Starting Class — Archer - Mae
Recruited before you leave the Priory.
Starting Class — Mage - Saber
Recruited in the Novis Greatport Tavern.
Starting Class — Mercenary - Valbar
Recruited after defeating the Pirate King Barth in the Pirate Throne interior. Talk to Valbar to recruit him.
Starting Class — Knight
Act 3
- Atlas
During Celica’s path talk to Atlas in the Mountain Village to recruit him.
Starting Class — Villager - Catria
After defeating Garth during Celica’s path return to Zophia Harbor and talk to Catria to recruit her.
Starting Class — Pegasus Knight - Deen
After defeating Sonia during Celica’s path talk to Deen in the Tactics Room in Grieth’s Fort to recruit him.
Starting Class — Myrmidon - Delthea
If Delthea survives the Tatara battle during Alm’s path visit the Floodgates and recruit her.
Starting Class — Witch - Est
During Celica’s path head to the prison inside Grieth’s Fort and recruit Est.
Starting Class — Pegasus Knight - Jesse
During Celica’s path head to the prison inside Desert Fort and recruit Jesse.
Starting Class — Pegasus Knight - Luthier
During Alm’s path head to the Forest Village Plaza and talk to Luthier to recruit him.
Starting Class — Mage - Mathilda
If Mathilda survives the Desaix Fort battle during Alm’s path visit the prison inside the fort to recruit her.
Starting Class — Paladin - Palla
After defeating Garth during Celica’s path return to Zophia Harbor and talk to Palla to recruit her.
Starting Class — Pegasus Knight - Sonya
After defeating Deen during Celica’s path talk to Sonya in the Tactics Room in Grieth’s Fort to recruit her.
Starting Class — Witch
Act 4
- Conrad
After finishing Dolk’s Fort during Celica’s path Conrad will automatically join your party.
Starting Class — Paladin - Mycen
During Alm’s path Mycen will automatically jin your party at the end of Act 4.
Starting Class — Gold Knight - Nomah
After lowering the water at the Temple of Mila during Celica’s path talk to Nomah to recruit him.
Starting Class — Sage - Tatiana
During Alm’s path talk to Tatiana inside the Nuibaba Manor Prison to recruit her.
Starting Class — Saint - Zeke
After recruiting Tatiana during Alm’s path head to Rigel Village Resident 1 and talk to Zeke to recruit him.
