PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS weapon attachments

There are dozens of attachments in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, each increasing the power of the weapon they belong to. But the game’s vague attachment descriptions leave most players confused about what they actually do. Fortunately for you we have written an in-depth guide on every weapon attachment. Read below to find out what you should loot and what you should leave on the ground.

Muzzle Mods

Compensators moderately reduce the horizontal and vertical recoil of a gun allowing you to place more shots in an intended area before you have to readjust your reticle.
The compensator offers the most recoil reduction of any attachment currently.

  • Assault Rifle Compensator — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L
  • SMG Compensator — Micro UZI, UMP9, Tommy Gun, Vector
  • Sniper Rifle Compensator — Kar98k, M24, AWM, SKS

Flash Hiders slightly reduce the horizontal and vertical recoil of a gun. They also have the added benefit of greatly concealing the muzzle flash of each bullet fired making it harder for opponents to detect where they are being shot from. The recoil reduction difference between compensators and flash hiders is currently negligible making the flash hider the recommended attachment between the two. Flash Hiders are an especially useful attachment for shooting from inside a building out on to unsuspecting foes.

  • Assault Rifle Flash Hider — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L
  • SMG Flash Hider — Micro UZI, UMP9, Tommy Gun, Vector
  • Sniper Rifle Flash Hider — Kar98k, M24, AWM, SKS

Suppressors are PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS most sought after attachment. Suppressors greatly reduce the amount of noise that each shot fired gives off making it incredibly hard for enemies to detect the source of their inevitable death. It is recommended that you pick up suppressors even for a weapons that you do not currently possess, just in case you eventually loot one.

  • Assault Rifle Suppressor — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L
  • Pistol Suppressor — P1911, P92, R1895
  • SMG Suppressor — Micro UZI, UMP9, Tommy Gun, Vector
  • Sniper Rifle Suppressor — Kar98k, M24, AWM, SKS

Chokes are a shotgun only attachment that greatly reduces the spread of the blast area. In a close quarter fight having a choke can be the difference between one shotting an opponent and taking a dirt nap. The choke does not have any competing attachments and should always be equipped when using a shotgun.

  • Shotgun Choke — S1897, S686

Grips

Angled Foregrips slightly reduce the horizontal and vertical recoil of a gun. This attachment also makes switching into a gun’s ADS sight mode slightly faster which can be the difference between shooting first and getting shot at first.

  • Angled Foregrip — M416, SCAR-L, UMP9, Vector

Vertical Foregrips slightly reduce the vertical recoil of a gun. Like the angled foregrip the vertical version also makes switching into ADS slightly faster but testing shows the angled foregrip to be the quickest of the two.

  • Vertical Foregrip — M416, SCAR-L, UMP9, Vector

Stocks

Stocks increase how quickly a gun’s recoil can recover as well as slightly reducing weapon sway. The stock attachment is most beneficial to a gun’s rapid fire mode by placing bullets into a more compact area rather than spraying them all over.

  • Micro UZI Stock — Micro UZI
  • M416 Stock — M416

Cheek Pads are a sniper rifle only attachment that reduce the recoil kick and sway after each shot fired. This attachment will allow you to refocus the center of your reticle faster after each shot and is increasingly beneficial with more powerful scopes.

  • Sniper Rifle Cheekpad — M24, AWM, Kar98k

Magazines

Extended Mags increase the amount of bullets that each gun can fire. The extra capacity varies from gun to gun making it a great choice for some guns and less useful for others. This attachment is considered a must have for quick firing low capacity guns like the Vector.

  • Assault Rifle Extended Mag — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, S12K
  • Pistol Extended Mag — P1911, P92
  • SMG Extended Mag — Micro UZI, UMP9, Vector
  • Sniper Rifle Extended Mag — M24, AWM, SKS
  • Vector Extended Mag — M24, AWM, SKS

Quick Draw Mags greatly increase how quickly you reload your weapon.

  • Assault Rifle Quick Draw Mag — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, S12K
  • Pistol Quick Draw Mag — P1911, P92
  • SMG Quick Draw Mag — Micro UZI, UMP9, Vector
  • Sniper Rifle Quick Draw Mag — M24, AWM, SKS

Extended Quick Draw Mags combine the extended mag and quick draw mag into the ultimate weapon magazine. This attachment is harder to find, but retains the full benefits of the previous two mags, making it a must use should the opportunity arise.

  • Assault Rifle Extended Quick Draw Mag — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, S12K
  • Pistol Quick Extended Draw Mag — P1911, P92
  • SMG Quick Extended Draw Mag — Micro UZI, UMP9, Vector
  • Sniper Rifle Extended Quick Draw Mag — M24, AWM, SKS

Bullet Loops are a shotgun and Kar98k only attachment that allow you to reload your weapon quicker.

  • Shotgun Bullet Loops — S1897, S686
  • Kar98k Bullet Loops — Kar98k

Scopes & Sights

Scopes in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS function exactly as you would expect them. From providing a slight increase in sight to allowing you to see an enemy from 800 meters away, scopes are what separate late game winners from whiners.

  • Red Dot Sight — UMP9, AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, SKS, S12K, M249, Kar98k, M24, AWM, Vector, Crossbow
  • Holographic Sight — UMP9, AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, SKS, S12K, M249, Kar98k, M24, AWM, Vector, Crossbow
  • 2x Scope — UMP9, AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, SKS, S12K, M249, Kar98k, M24, AWM, Vector, Crossbow
  • 4x Scope — UMP9, AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, SKS, S12K, M249, Kar98k, M24, AWM, Vector, Crossbow
  • 8x Scope — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, SKS, S12K, M249, Kar98k, M24, AWM
  • 15x Scope — AKM, M16A4, M416, SCAR-L, SKS, S12K, M249, Kar98k, M24, AWM
