Resident Evil 6 Really Wants to Be an Action Game in Its TGS Trailer

September 25, 2012 by Alex Co

Capcom has finally released the official TGS trailer for Resident Evil 6 and it doesn’t show a lot of horror…

If watching this 10-minute gameplay clip wasn't enough to satisfy your Resident Evil needs for the day, maybe this official TGS trailer for the game will.

Officially released by Capcom today. the trailer shows a lot of gunfights, a lot of explosions and a lot of action-scenes. Yeah, a lot of everything except actual horror. If I'm not mistaken, Resident Evil 6 is still classified as a "survival-horror" game, right? You wouldn't be able to tell that by watching this trailer.

The trailer itself doesn't really show anything new and is mostly comprised of cutscenes instead of actual gameplay. However, it does make one thing clear: Resident Evil 6 is Leon's game. Yes, Chris and Jake have their own separate sections, but I think the "heavy-lifting" in the narrative will be in Leon's section of the game — at least that's the impression I get from the trailers we've seen so far.

Can Resident Evil 6 still be a scary game even with all the crash, bang, pow? I'm hoping it does when it hits retail on October 2 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
