Criterion Games is updating the Need for Speed franchise with the upcoming release of Need for Speed Most Wanted. The new game shares many similarities to Criterion’s popular racing game, Burnout Paradise, notably offering an open world campaign which players can drive through and unlock new challenges, races, and cars as they travel through the city.

Today, Criterion and EA have released a new trailer showcasing the game’s open world aspects with an in-depth look at Fairhaven City, in which the game is set. Combining gameplay mechanics from both Burnout Paradise and the original NFS: Most Wanted, players will have to challenge and race against the 10 Most Wanted drivers who stand in your way to being the number one “Most Wanted” in the city.

The video also explains the game’s Easy Drive system, the built-in social network Autolog 2, and a host of other features which are set to place Need for Speed Most Wanted ahead of the pack.

Need for Speed Most Wanted is set for an release on October 30 in North America and on November 1 in Europe. It’ll be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and PC in addition to a host of other platforms.
