Mass Effect: Andromeda Will Have Uncapped Frame Rate & No Cross-Play Support

January 30, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

We’re closing in on Mass Effect: Andromeda’s release date.

One of the most anticipated video games set to release this year is nearly upon us. The next installment of the Mass Effect franchise known as Mass Effect: Andromeda will be launching on March 21, 2017. Since we’re closing in on the release date for the upcoming sci-fi RPG title, more information is slowly being fed to the public.

The latest was reported by DualShockers, who went over a few notable pieces of news that came out from various key members of the development studio. Fernando Melo, a producer for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda video game, recently took to Twitter in order to answer a question from a fan.

A user on Twitter reached out asking if there will be any chance Mass Effect: Andromeda will feature cross-play multiplayer. It’s not surprising that the answer is no. Instead, the producer revealed that there are no plans on bringing out cross-play support and that multiplayer will be peer-to-peer, similar to how Mass Effect 3 handled its multiplayer.

@tibermoon @Tinkham11 crossplay not in the current plans, sorry. and mp is peer to peer (same as me3)

Furthermore, it was reported by DualShockers that Mass Effect: Andromeda will have uncapped frame rate for the PC version of the game. This isn’t anything particularly new as BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn also confirmed uncapped frame rate for PC versions of the game earlier this month on NeoGaf. Nevertheless, it’s nice knowing that the feature wasn’t tossed away.

In other news, BioWare recently released a new cinematic trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda. The trailer went further into the narrative players will be going through in the game, which places the important task of finding an inhabitable earth on the new commander.
