If you didn't know, Kojima Productions is set to hold a Metal Gear 25th Anniversary this week later in Japan. While I'm sure Kojima & Co. will certainly talk about the success of the Metal Gear franchise, it seems the studio is also set to drop a few "megatons" in the event, too.
Ken Mendoza, Kojima Productions podcaster, laid they hype on thick in the latest episode of their podcast (via Gaming Everything). Mendoza mentioned that there will "a lot of exciting announcements." Chris Johns, another Kojima Productions employee, went a step further by stating, "A lot of things to look forward to next week. Not just for fans, but I think the industry's going to be shook by what we're going to be able to present here."
One of the few things to expect at the event would be a new gameplay demo of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance; an official unveiling of KojiPro's Project Ogre is also to be expected. Speculation has also been running rampant that Project Ogre is the codename for Metal Gear Solid 5.
Of course, if you read between the lines, there's not much Kojima Productions can announce that will "shake" the industry other than Metal Gear Solid 5. Hopefully, the game gets officially announced then, no?
The wait won't be long now as the event is set to take place on August 30 in Japan. Which announcement would you consider to be "industry shaking" other than Metal Gear Solid 5? Perhaps an MSG4 port? Speculate away until the 30th!
