Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, which is an “enhanced” version of the RTS that was made in 2009, was launched today. However only some of you will be able to play it.
The Definitive Edition is included in the Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition only for those who preordered it. If you have done this, then you will be able to play the game now. Players will receive a token for the Definitive Edition; the codes start going out on December 20th and are distributed in waves (meaning it could take up to 10 days to eventually get your code according to Microsoft).
Like Halo Wars 2, the Definitive Edition will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 (PC). Being a Xbox Anywhere title, means that the Definitive Edition can be played on both platforms if bought on only one of them.
The game has “improved visual effects, graphics, and audio,”. PC players with a supported monitor can play in 4K (woohoo!). The Definitive Edition also comes with all the DLC from the original, as well as a suite of achievements worth 1,500 Gamerscore (woohoo x2!).
