Pictured above are the 12 Tenets of Kifflom, part of a fictional religion that is, we can fairly assume, a central element in GTA V. The screen was taken from the Epsilon Program website, a facet of the viral marketing campaign which has begun to hype the upcoming instalment in the open-world franchise.
The site is a satirical pantomime of certain contemporary business-like religions (*cough* cults *cough*), drawing out extensive and overtly absurd dogma and even providing an equally-satirical fictitious address so that devout members can donate money to the organization. To make things quite intentionally spooky, the site constantly loops the same music—a take on the annoying yet creepily mesmerizing Muzak one would expect to hear when having one's brain thoroughly washed.
The fake religion also has its own Twitter account, which so far only boasts three tweets no less sinister than anything on the website.
GTA V has neither had a concrete release date announced nor any confirmed platform, which, in a way, makes the inane abstractions of Kifflom even more enigmatic and if nothing else, serves to lather up the religious fervor of excited gamers in a way befitting a cult marketing scheme.
