In the fourth instalment of its developer video diary series, Team17 walks us through the many game modes featured in the upcoming Worms Revolution.
Taking a cue from an off-camera wormy-voiced interviewer, Senior Designer Mark Diamond details the five game modes to be found in the single and multiplayer parts of the game.
Single Player offers two modes: Campaign Mode and Puzzle Mode. In Campaign Mode, players can choose from a set of new classes and play through over 32 missions. This is meant to help noobs and scrubs improve at the game, as well as introducing players of all skill levels to the new features to be found in Worms Revolution. Puzzle Mode, which is making a comeback, will feature 20 modes of increasing difficulty which requires players to implement strategy and skill to achieve different goals.
Multiplayer will contain three modes: Deathmatch, Forts and Classic Mode. Deathmatch plunges worms into glorious free-for-all battle until only one worm stands victorious. Classic Mode, for all us "Worms purists," as Diamond phrases it, allows players to disregard new features and play the old-fashioned game.
Finally, Forts sounds rather compelling: pitting two teams against each other on opposing forts separated by a body of water, each worm comrade must use aerial and projectile tactics as well as their own cunning to destroy the other team without sending themselves to a watery grave.
All multiplayer modes will be available locally or for online play.
Worms Revolution is set for an October 10 release on PSN in the EU. No word on a North American release date, or a date for PC or XBLA release.
