Could Assassin's Creed III be the newest member of the "Season Pass" family? If an alleged letter sent by Ubisoft to GameStop is to be believed, that seems to be the case.
The letter, which was sent to Kotaku over the weekend, states that Ubisoft has been quite happy with the way GameStop has assassinated (read: hit) ACIII's pre-order goals and they're giving an exclusive Assassin's Creed necklace as a reward for their efforts.
But the juicy bit comes further down as the letter also claims that Ubisoft is in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin on post-launch episodic content for ACIII. Mind you, this sounds like more content for the game's single-player but that hasn't been confirmed by the letter in any way.
Aside from that, it also states that "beginning shortly," Ubisoft will be taking pre-orders for ACIII's Season Pass and they would "love" GameStop's continued assistance in informing pre-order customers that a better value is available for those who pre-order it.
Sadly, no info regarding this Season Pass' date, content and whatnot have been made available. Though if I were to hazard a guess, it will be available before the game's ship date and is scheduled for all platforms.
Assassin's Creed III is set for release on October 30 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. There's also a PC version scheduled but its release date has not been finalized yet.

Could this be one of Ubisoft's bombshells at Gamescom? If true, is this something you'd want to get for ACIII?
