Friday the 13th: The Game was Delayed for a Good Reason

October 17, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Friday the 13th: The Game is getting a few months of development added.

Friday the 13th: The Game just got delayed, but that’s okay because its developers want to work on a single-player campaign. Unfortunately, this also means that the devs are going to raise the price of the game to account for the development extension. However, if you already pre-ordered the title, you won’t have to pay anything extra.

Originally slated for release this Fall, the game has been delayed to Summer 2017 with the addition of a new single-player mode with AI bots. The developers are also working on a new, third map and another playable character.

The developers have released a new release schedule for the game. Beta will go ahead as planned, so you’ll still be able to get your Jason on this year.

  • Fall 2016: Beta release including four beta keys for friends when pre-ordered (KS Backers get four additional beta keys for their friends as well)
  • Spring 2017: Multiplayer release with Tommy Jarvis and Packanack Lodge
  • Summer 2017: Single-player release and offline AI bots

If you pre-ordered the game for $30, you won’t have to pay the increased price. Everyone else who buys the game now will have to pay $40 for the digital version. The game is also coming out as a physical retail copy for $60.
