Payday 2 Serving Up Ten Days of New Content

October 9, 2016 by Nick Monroe

Hoxton’s Housewarming Party event is introducing new features to the game.

Payday 2 is a crime heist FPS by Overkill Software and 505 games that was released both on last generation systems back in 2013, as well as getting a current gen release for PS4 and Xbox One. In the same spirit as the original Payday, Payday 2 has players robbing banks and other places of immense wealth, or undergoing other high stakes assignments (fighing other gangs, stealing drugs, smuggling weapons)throughout the Washington DC area. The most famous aspect of the game is the fact that most of the missions can be completed quietly and sneakily, but when things go wrong, THEY HIT THE FAN and the police comes after you with massive firepower. But what it comes down to are the rewards, and Payday 2 keeps players interested with new weapon modifications, masks, and other customization options to keep them engaged in the experience.

With the newest community event that’s going on right now, Payday 2 is scheduled to deliver on the goods that keep their fans coming back.

Hoxton’s Housewarming Party took over the Payday 2 developer’s site. It intends to usher forth ten straight days of updates for the title, adding in more gameplay features. Day 0 on October 6th helped get the festivities going before they even officially began. It was announced that Payday 2 is free to play until October 16th, and both Payday the Heist and Payday 2 plus DLC are available to purchase at a 75% off discount. Day 1 brought changes to the difficulty ratings system. The Mayhem Difficulty is designed for people who think there’s too much of a challenge spike between OVERKILL and Death Wish, and the new One Down difficulty is the “impossible” tier where players can only be downed once before being taken into custody. In addition to having new difficulties, the challenge scale of all difficulties has been revamped to feel more gradual as you go along. Yesterday was Day 2 and it was committed to overhauling the player’s safehouse. Starting at level 25, Hoxton has arranged for a new HQ. This new hide-out is equipped with opportunities of it’s own: try out the shooting range to calculate your damage output more precisely, change your escape van’s color, and take the time to bet your offshore money and possibly win more cash in return. The customization goes further with daily challenges that unlock trophes you can show off in your new crib. To top it all off, John Cleese voice acts as your house Butler. So you know this experience is authentic.

Looking ahead at the rest of the Housewarming Calendar: new mask packs, new throwables and new weapons, a new safe, and new enemies await. Topping it all off on the final day, the developers are adding a new heist. So you know the party will end with a big bang.

Payday 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. To learn more about the game, follow along at the developer’s website, Twitter, and Facebook.
