Mojang has announced plans to bring Chinese mythological characters into Minecraft this upcoming month.
On October 4, all of the game’s console editions will receive the Minecraft Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack as a DLC, in addition to a free update. The pack includes 41 new skins, 13 new music tracks and a special map for the Battle Mini Game, which has ancient cities to explore and dragons to gawk at. The Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack will run you a cost of $4.99 and is based on Chinese lore.
The accompanying free update will add seven new building blocks, new terrain generation features (including fossils buried underground), polar bears, banners, and a new plant called beetroot that can be crafted into a soup that restores health when consumed.
The DLC will be available on Xbox One and Wii U on October 4, followed by other consoles on October 5.
