The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been remastered. The Special Edition is now available for preorder on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced this today on his blog about the Xbox One version. The PS4 version went up with less hype.
Hyrb’s post mentions that “you may pre-download this game” but it appears you’re not pre-loading the full game. The file size is listed at 106.15 MB.
The Skyrim remaster remains locked and unplayable until 12:01 AM ET on October 28th.
The Skyrim Special Edition is not available yet to preorder digitally for PC. PC players can get the game for free if they own Skyrim and all of its related DLC already.
Bethesda announced the Skyrim remaster during E3. There are a number of new visual effects, including god rays, new snow shaders, and more.
The Skyrim remaster will also include support for PC mods, much like Fallout 4 has.
