The excitement of Nintendo joining the mobile market for smartphones and tablets is still at an all-time high. Regardless of the company only having one title out currently, which is called Miitomo, we know that the Nintendo company and its partnership with DeNA are bringing out both a Fire Emblem and an Animal Crossing game. However, it seems that Nintendo is seeking out developers who are able to create mobile video games on smart devices right within their company.
News of the recruitment listing was discovered by Nintendo Insider where Nintendo had posted about an opportunity for smartphone and tablet developers to work within Nintendo. More specifically, the job seeks developers to work within the offices located in Tokyo and Kyoto.
This location is a big deal as these developers will be working with Nintendo’s biggest teams who worked on their triple AAA title releases. There’s still quite a bit of mystery surrounding this call to recruit their own smartphone and tablet developers as Nintendo struck a deal with DeNA.
Could Nintendo be preparing to developer their own mobile titles moving forward after their deal with DeNA? Also, does this mean will see more of their big franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Mario see a video game release on a new mobile market? For now, only time will tell.
