The announcement of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition has stirred quite a bit of hype. While it may not be the next Elder Scrolls installment to the franchise, fans of the series can once again go through one of the most popular RPG’s that released during the last console generation. If you already own a copy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the PC then you don’t have to worry about starting over from scratch.

Confirmation of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition successfully loading old saves came from Bethesda’s Pete Hines. According to Pete Hines, he was able to confirm that PC gamers should be able to successfully load their old Skyrim saves on the upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition from the past Skyrim PC release. The key word is “should” as we’ll have to wait and see if there are any problematic issues that may arise after the game officially launches.

Furthermore, it was also revealed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will be 64-bit only and will have a Creation Kit available for mods to be shared through the Bethesda network. Unfortunately, it was not stated on if console gamers will also have the ability to transfer their save files.

Gamers can pick up The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on October 28, 2016, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
