Darksides II will launch day and date alongside Nintendo's Wii U, developer Vigil Games has confirmed.
Lead deisgner Hayden Dalton broke the news to Digital Spy, revealing that the Wii U version of the Death-dealing sequel is being developed simultaneously with the other console versions with a team dedicated to using the system's tablet controller "in more than a slapdash way."
Dalton didn't reveal the specifics of what special features are currently in the works, but he did discuss one feature they had planned for an earlier, unused demo version.
"One of the things that we did, when we were originally going to show it off, was that you could equip stuff directly. So, for instance, I could be running along and I could click on another piece and I could put it on as I'm running through the game," he said.
"We're not basically heavily changing the core game to support the control system, but the control system will be an enhancement of the core game."
Nintendo has yet to reveal a release date for the Wii U, but they've confirmed that the console will be out worldwide sometime between June and December of this year.
The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of Darksiders II will be available in North America on June 26 and Europe on June 29.
