Last night at the EVE FanFest, CCP Games showed off nearly a half-hour of brand new gameplay footage from Dust 514, their upcoming free-to-play MMOFPS. Thankfully, CurseNetwork was kind enough to capture the whole shebang on video and upload it to YouTube.
The footage contains plenty of new details about the game's features and gameplay, inlcuding the impressive revelation that Dust 514's "smaller maps" will be in the neighborhood of two miles wide.
There's also quite a bit of footage showcasing how the game will integrate with EVE Online, from shared locations and UI elements to the ability to call in orbital strikes from actual EVE players in real time. The latter, which occurs around the 24 minute mark, is quite frankly one of the most impressive things I've ever seen in a game..
Still, reading about all this isn't nearly as much fun as seeing it in action. If you're as excited about Dust 514 as we are here at Gameranx, clear the next 35 minutes and watch every last second of this thing. It's definitely worth your time.
Dust 514, a PlayStation 3 exclusive, will be released sometime this summer.
