A few years ago the question on everybody's lips seemed to be "Is World of Warcraft coming to consoles?" The answer was always the same "it could be fun if we could get it right. It'd be stupid of us to not explore every avenue." This far down the line, it seems that the avenue has been fully explored and it stunk slightly of homeless people and urine and so the whole idea was probably dropped.
In time, people have accepted that they're unlikely to ever play WoW on consoles, but with the rapid rise in smart phones, is it possible that it might make an appearance on other systems? Apparently it's not a wild idea. John Lagrave, while talking with Eurogamer, spoke about the possibility of World of Warcraft on iOS.
"We won't do it until we think it's decent," he said. "But it's interesting and the world is evolving towards that little handheld device – I'd have fun on it, that's absolutely the case. It would be foolish for any game developer to not be looking at that and we're not – we don't think – we're foolish!
So it's the same response they used to give about consoles, but at least it's something.
