FBC: Firebreak is Remedy Entertainment’s first go at a multiplayer game. However, they have to endure some growing pains. Fewer players are logging into the game. Could they turn it around? Perhaps. That’s one area that the studio hopes to answer this year by the time they release the first major update to the game.
Leaving a post on the FBC: Firebreak Steam store page, the developers have revealed that they have plans in place for their first major update. This update is scheduled for September, and although things change frequently, we’re getting a small glimpse of what to expect. Some of these features they have in the works could arrive early, get pushed back, or even be scrapped. However, their primary goal is to increase the number of players actively logging into the game.
Bringing & Retaining New Players

The primary focus of this September update is to ensure that new players will continue to log in to the game. There are already some updates to help address this, such as the onboarding introductory video in the game. However, more plans are in place to help players understand what they need to do and a little about the Oldest House.
That might not be something to help veteran players initially, but if more players are logging in, that could speed up finding new matches with ease. Even some of you pros could benefit from something like pop-up tips as you play the game.
Gameplay Changes

There are also areas that the developers wish to change in regard to the current gameplay experience. One is the gunplay, and trying to find a good balance for players. It won’t turn into a game with nothing but guns, but Remedy does want to introduce new guns and remove all generic upgrades from the equipment.
It seems that players will get a more powerful version of everything a Firebreaker needs from the beginning. However, a new mod system will be available, allowing you to customize how your gun behaves. More information on that will happen this September.
Furthermore, they aim to increase the chaos that could occur in a game. You’ll find that Clearance and Corruption levels are being replaced with something pre-made. We don’t have details quite yet, but that should give you a few more unexpected moments as you go through a round.
A New Job

We also know that a brand-new job is in active development. Right now, it’s dubbed the sushi train, but again, details on what to expect exactly are being kept secret. Instead, just know that we’re getting a new job with three zones, a new status effect, and two more enemies to deal with.
Again, all of these areas highlighted by the FBC: Firebreak development team will be fleshed out by September. That’s the planned launch window for the update. For those who have yet to try the game, it’s currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
