It is only the 8th of January and there have already been several Nintendo Switch 2 rumours and leaks. Some Nintendo fans believe that this might push Nintendo into announcing the console early. Krysta Yang, a former marketing head for Nintendo thinks otherwise.
As shared to Reddit by Joeski100, Krysta Yang posted on Twitter that despite the frantic press coverage, leaks and speculation, Nintendo would likely stick to their date.
The origins of an imminent announcement come from a statement Nintendo made last year. The statement essentially said that Nintendo would announce a road map to its investors before the end of this fiscal year. Speculation from notable personalities like NateTheHate and Modern Vintage Gamer hinted at a late January or early February announcement. While those statements were largely speculation, they were made by two prominent figures with considerable knowledge regarding industry workings.
Krysta Yang is also one such individual. Krysta was a former marketing head for Nintendo during the Nintendo Switch era. As such she is familiar with Nintendo’s strategies. Despite the fact that Krysta no longer works for Nintendo, she is still up to date with industry news as she co-hosts Kit and Krysta a gaming podcast with a focus on Nintendo news.
Additionally, the Kit & Krysta podcast Twitter account commented on the leaks that are currently happening at CES. The podcast will answer questions in an upcoming video but the sentiment seems to mirror that of Krysta’s own tweet.
