There is a lot of hype and anticipation over the next installment of The Witcher franchise. We don’t know much about the game at all. We might know even less after the voice actor made a new comment for Geralt. If you recall, it was previously believed that Geralt’s voice actor would step back into the role for the next game.
Doug Cockle made a comment not too long ago that suggested he would return for the voice of Geralt. Likewise, it was noted that Geralt wouldn’t be the main protagonist this time. Instead, he would play a smaller role, with quite a few fans talking about this single piece of news. Most took it as official, but now we’re learning this might not be true.
Thanks to VGC, we’re finding out that Doug Cockle spoke about the comment again with Geektown. During their conversation, it was revealed that Doug was mistaken as he learned about Geralt taking a smaller role from a rumor online. At the time, he believed it was from CD Projekt Red.
Since then, it has been noted that CD Projekt Red contacted Doug and alerted him that they didn’t actually say anything about the game. They also told him not to put any information about it in public.
So, for now, all we can do is wait and see what’s in store for us with the next installment of this franchise. Of course, we already know that full production has kicked off, and hopefully, new details and marketing materials for this game will be shared with the public. Meanwhile, in other news regarding CD Projekt Red, they have recently announced a new update is coming to Cyberpunk 2077.
