Finally!

Just posted on the Fallout Twitter, comes great news for fans of Fallout 4.

They link to a recently released post introducing the return of the Bethesda style of video game modding.

Starting with Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Bethesda has introduced a system that gives the tools to anyone who wants to try and make game content of their own. This program improved when Oblivion and Skyrim came out, alongside Fallout 3‘s G.E.C.K. version as well. Any story you wanted to tell with a quest, all the crazy characters you wanted to populate the Commonwealth with, down to individual customized clothing, armor, weapons, and dialogue.

The post says:

“For Fallout 4, our goal was to make Mods easier and more accessible than ever before – for both the creators and the players. By building an all-new system with Bethesda.net we’ve made a huge leap forward in achieving that. You can now browse and search for the latest and greatest Mods, choose your favorites, post feedback, and install them – all within the game. Simply select Mods from the main menu, and start browsing.”

The sky is not even the limit.

Here’s how to jump right into the 1.5 update, according to the website announcement.

  1. Log into Steam
  2. Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Betas
  5. A drop down menu will appear. Select beta
  6. Select OK
  7. Wait a few minutes and Fallout 4 should update
  8. When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [Beta] in your Library

Newcomers to the modding scene should start over at the Creation Kit website. The official post encourages participants to leave feedback on their forums, so they can improve the experience as fast as possible.

Creation Kit mods come to Xbox One this May while PS4 gets them in June. According to the website post the team has “a lot to do yet, but we hope it changes console gaming the way it has changed PC.”

HAPPY MODDING!!
