A new indie title set to release later this year puts players into a nobody cop trying to make a living and clear his name. However, New York city proves to be more of a beast than a metropolitan. Can you tough it out, catch the criminals, write the tickets, and clear your name in the upcoming release of Beat Cop?
Beat Cop was officially unveiled today and announced to be featured within the upcoming PAX East Boston. The game puts players into the shoes of Jack Kelly, once a detective that was framed for a murder and degraded into the shoes of a common police officer. Long forgotten, Jack Kelly not only serves his best in clearing out the crime-filled city but searches for any means to clear his name.
According to the official website, Beat Cop is a point-and-click adventure title that features a nonlinear story. Furthermore, gamers can expect to run into multiple endings depending on how well your investigative skills are.
Humor is also playing a big role in the development of Beat Cop. With inspirations of 80’s cop shows and “thousands of things in this world you can laugh at”, there’s bound to be some incentive to keep players wandering around the world and making tough choices.
Developed by Pixel Crow and being published by 11 bit studios, Beat Cop will be making its way onto the PC platform though a specific release date has yet to be determined other than at some point later this year. Additionally, we do have the price point for what Beat Cop will run gamers which is currently set at $14.99.
