If you’re getting a bit disappointed over the lack of new major updates to Starfield, it looks like the developers are hearing you loud and clear. There haven’t been too many notable updates to Starfield quite yet. Instead, the game updates have been more keen on fixing some of the bugs, among other technical issues. That hasn’t stopped the developers from pushing forward with some of their other plans for the title. In fact, a representative took to Reddit to reaffirm that some bigger updates are coming our way.
Fans who have taken up on Reddit to express frustration over the latest patch update were met with a new comment from the folks over at Bethesda. The BethesdaGameStudios_ Reddit account has taken to the online forum to unveil that they appreciate all the feedback coming out so far. However, they wanted to ensure that larger updates to the video game are coming. There are a lot of in-progress quest fixes as well, which are actually harder to fix, according to the statement given by Bethesda. As a result, a new system was built to ensure these fixes can be done without players rolling back any game saves.
More importantly, bigger features are coming and being worked on right now. Those include mod support, which is a big one. Fans who want to get creative and help make new Starfield experiences can expect that sometime next year. Of course, other features will make the game a bit easier for those who will start their space adventure campaign. For instance, we’ll soon see city maps come into the game. So, new people won’t spend time searching the area for a specific location. It will also be nice to look at a map to see where certain stores are located.
Another feature that is being worked on is a new way of traveling. But that’s about all that was said on that front. Instead, it’s expected that we’ll see a new update every six weeks and potentially even some smaller hotfixes between those bigger updates. But as we move into the holiday breaks, we’ll likely not see anything notable coming our way for Starfield until after New Year’s. At any rate, the game is readily available to enjoy right now on PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Likewise, because this is a first-party Microsoft title, you can expect it on Xbox Game Pass. We even have a Before You Buy video coverage of the game, which you can view in the video we have embedded below.
