If you've ever wondered what a Pokéball is actually made of and how it works, you're probably not alone. The red and white device has managed to capture our collective imagination since the first Pokémon game was released in 1996.
Portland-based artist Hunson Nguyen produced this wonderful chart to break down the Pokéball and explain how it works. We get to see the insides of the device, its origins, and all the variants it comes in.
If you think about it hard enough, Pokémon is like a G-rated version of dog fighting, without all the dead dogs and Michael Vick going to prison for it. But unless you were raised to treat animals badly, that's probably not what comes to mind when you think of Pokémon.
