A source has come forward claiming Nintendo will be revealing the NX before this year’s E3.
Orgen from NeoGAF has stepped forward to make this claim. He states that it will not be a tease sharing only a small element about the console, and will lean closer to a full reveal. He does not know if Nintendo will be making this reveal in a full Nintendo Direct, or if it will be an investor’s meeting. However, he vouches that fans will not have to wait until E3 this June. Orgen successfully predicted the reveal for Pokemon X and Y, so his word carries as an insider still carries some weight.
While rumors have continued to propagate regarding the NX through the last few months, Nintendo has been consistent in their messaging about the console. Last December, president Tatsumi Kimishima reaffirmed the statement of his predecessor, the late Satoru Iwata. The NX represents Nintendo’s commitment to dedicated game hardware. This will remain the core of their business, even as they start making games for the mobile market.
This new rumor does line up with claims that Nintendo will be releasing the console sometime between October to November. There are also rumors Nintendo has already contracted the NX’s manufacturers, and should be ready to ship 10 to 16 million units this year.
