The beta for Fallout 4 patch 1.4.124 is now live on Steam, allowing users to take some new features and fixes for a test drive. First off are some aesthetic additions to spruce up or dress down your settlements, in the form of Workshop items like new Raider and Super Mutant clutter, as well as new paintings, signs, and metal and wood door variants.

Second are a whole list of adjustments made for bugs and errors, primarily general performance and stability issues. Also included are improved settlement attack updates, a fix for that pesky third-person error that triggers after leaving Workshop, various repairs on Pip-Boy related issues, and a few balance adjustments on some of the Perks. To see the full list head over to the update posted in the Fallout 4 Steam group today.

If you wish to participate in the beta, make sure that you are opted-in by checking the Betas tag in the Properties window of your Fallout 4 game. To do so right-click its entry on your Steam library list. Select Beta Update from the drop down menu, select OK, and within a few minutes Fallout 4 should update to include the new content.

If you missed it, Bethesda recently announced their plan for the upcoming downloadable content for Fallout 4. Including two narrative-driven expansions and a Workshop-focused content pack, the DLC will begin to release next month. To learn more, check out our recent article.
