Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake has revealed that Quantum Break has gone gold.
In a very brief tweet, Sam celebrated the affair with an oversized bottle of alchohol, likely champagne.

Following a staggered release from 2014 all the way to 2016, this is an encouraging sign that fans are still interested, and even eager, to play Remedy’s time bending action adventure. The announcement did not reveal how many of these copies that helped Quantum Break reach gold were for Xbox One and for Windows 10. However, it is certain that bringing the game to Windows 10 in the first place helped it reach this milestone.
It likely also helped that Remedy is also working on this Windows 10 port, and that Microsoft is offering a cross-buy deal that they may make the standard for their future games. That cross-buy arrangement also includes cross-play between the two versions, that Microsoft hopes will make the game more accessible to more gamers.
Microsoft really did put a lot of confidence behind Quantum Break, Windows 10 port aside. The gamereceived a special edition Xbox One. It was also given a huge cinematic trailer during last year’s The Game Awards. Of course, plans for the concurrent TV show are also still on track. The show and game actually share the same cast, in a major first in gaming and other media.
Quantum Break will be releasing on April 5, on both Xbox One and Windows 10. You can take a look at Remedy’s production behind the scenes.
