According to specific job postings, Nowgamer.com has discovered that Microsoft Game Studios is looking to hire producers to help develop and pursue exclusive new AAA franchises for the Xbox 360 and its successors. This isn't too surprising, but it's interesting nonetheless.
A producer opening includes the following in the job description: "MGS has a number of successful core franchises: Halo, Fable, Forza Motorsport, and Gears of War. Our job is to add new blood to this stable of AAA franchises. We have huge ambitions for what we want to accomplish, and we need a great producer to be able to help us get where we want to go."
Nowgamer also notes that the future AAA Xbox-exclusive games will stay close to the console's traditional genres however, urging candidates "to have a thorough understanding of games in the genres we are working in: primarily Shooter and Action-Adventure."
Microsoft is also looking to hire developers for its Connected Experience Group to help build more free-to-play titles in the likeness of Age of Empires Online, which is "just the first stage of our plans for this portfolio."
