Follow This Twitter Account, It’s For the (Destiny) Birds

February 8, 2016 by Holly Green

Somehow it seems like Destiny for Tweets to feature birds.

Destiny Lunar Elegy Kingfisher
Twitter is a social media platform that can also be described as an artistic medium. Its uses vary as much as its users, and somehow with only 140 characters per Tweet it has managed to help facilitate the rise of post-post modernism. The latest feed to capture my attention is a young one, started at the end of January of this year.

Entitled @DestinyBorbs, its curator @aauryx pulls together images of armor-clad Destiny characters and uses the shaders to pair them with pictures of exotic wild birds to match. Surprisingly, they work really well. Above is Lunar Elegy paired with two Kingfisher. Below, Feud Unfading with a Long Tailed Widow Bird and at the bottom of the page, the Bloodpact and a Cockatiel. If you’re impressed with how perfect these are, be sure to hit up the feed where you’ll find 15 others in the collection so far. My personal favorite? The Kingswind compared side-by-side with a Golden Eagle.

Feud Unfading Long Tailed Widow Bird Destiny

In other Destiny news, recently it was rumored that they would soon be bringing microtransactions into the game, a rumor they have officially denied, saying simply “We are not doing that.” Originally subject of weak reviews upon its October 2014 release (including ours) the developers have been taking steps to improve the game with each update. To that effect they last week sent out a survey to dormant Destiny players, polling them as to why they stopped playing the game. If you haven’t signed in to your game in awhile, you may want to check your inbox and see if they left you a message.

Bloodpact Cockatiel Destiny

Destiny also got a new PVP feature in this week’s update, entitled Freelance Mode. Check out our story on that to get more details, or just hit up our site tag for more Destiny related news.
