Rumor: Capcom Announcing Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake This Year

January 19, 2026 by Ryan Parreno

The story of the Redfield siblings has been a long time coming.

Apparently, Capcom’s next Resident Evil remake is not Resident Evil 5.

Dusk Golem claimed on Twitter that the next project in the pipeline is actually a Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake. They also say it will be announced this year.

Dusk Golem replied to an inquiry about Sheva Alomar’s actress Karen Dyer claiming that she knows something that’s lined up this March.

Some fans thought she was hinting at a Resident Evil 5 remake. Dusk Golem explicitly stated that she is alluding to something else.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica was originally one of Dreamcast’s year one titles. It last released as an HD remaster on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.

The Redfields’ side story hasn’t received as much love as other games of its vintage, so a remake has been a long time coming. Fans would definitely love to see where this game builds from Resident Evil 4 Remake.
