The map has not yet been officially revealed, but you may not have to wait long to see it. Call of Duty NEXT for 2022 is coming up later today, and Activision will be revealing information for this and their other upcoming Call of Duty games, particularly Call of Duty Warzone Mobile and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
In the meantime, Tom has shared a diagram indicating the locations of the points of interest in this peninsula. A description of these locations follows below. Please note that they may use the older names for the locations, and this map is not final.
At the far north of the map are Oasis and War-Torn, with the Oilfield and Hydro Station a few steps below. At opposite ends of the map near the top are the Quarry and the considerably broader Modern City. A river path crosses the Modern City and makes its way to the Marshes, the side of the Hydro Stations, the Caves, Sira, and finally reaches out to the Eastern Sea at the Harbor.
On the other side of the Hydro Station and its river is a steep mountain, and consequently the Mountain Town. Next to the Mountain Town is the Observatory, which is located close enough to the center that it is potentially the best location to see everything on the map. The Old Town is found below the Mountain Town adjacent to the mountain itself.
Finally, on the bottom side of Al Mazrah are the three sides of the peninsula surrounded by water. Aside from the Harbor and in proximity to the open seas are the Shipwreck, the Graveyard, Fish Town, Fort, and Airport.
The way the map is laid out, control depends on gaining control closer to the bottom and middle of it instead of the very top. While Al Mazrah City FKA Modern City, is a significant location, it is surrounded on all sides by other points of interest and can be choked out particularly if players take control of the sides controlling the sea.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be released on October 28, 2022, for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. You can read our prior coverage on another potential map for both Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, called Highrise.
