Dark Souls 3 is the third and final entry in From Software’s Dark Souls series of action role-playing games. Like its predecessors, it’s a fairly brutal affair and encourages players to be careful and deliberate in the actions they take during combat. This isn’t Diablo, and players who play recklessly will find themselves at the sharp end of a sword blade more often than not.
The team developing the game has been keen to show off more of the game heading up to its release this April, when it comes out for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The new game is set to borrow many improvements and innovations from From Software’s PS4-exclusive action role-playing game Bloodborne, while retaining the mechanics that made Dark Souls and its sequel, Dark Souls 2, what they’re best known for — slow, deliberate pacing.
Today, you can see some new gameplay footage via PGMadeira. Check it out:
The game looks more Gothic than ever, and thanks to the fact that it’s only being released on new-gen systems and the PC, the game’s graphics won’t be held back by last-gen systems any longer, so expect it to look as good as the PS4-exclusive Bloodborne.
The new video follows in the wake of last week’s screenshot dump, which showcased some of the bleak environments that players will traverse. The company also revealed that super fans of the game will have a chance to win a life-sized figure of a knight by pre-ordering the game through the Japanese PlayStation Store. We’re hoping this thing makes it elsewhere.
