Holiday-themed in-game events seem to be on the rise. Following Destiny’s Crimson Days Valentine’s Day event announcement, Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the latest game to jump on the holiday bandwagon. (Although, I don’t think any game does holiday in-game events as well as Grand Theft Auto Online.)
Valenbrainz will run for the thirteen days leading up to Valentine’s Day on February 14. As part of the promotion, Plants vs. Zombies 2 has introduced the new Blooming Heart plant, which turns flying hearts into a formidable weapon.
Other new additions include six Valentine-themed zombies, several collectible costumes, eleven new levels, and higher coin rewards for the duration of the event.
The next major content update for Plants vs. Zombies 2, Modern Day Part 2, is also just on the horizon with an official release date of February 16. Get ready to face Dr. Zomboss and his armies. Fan favorite All-Star zombie, a football player from beyond the grave, will also make an appearance, along with Super-Fan Imp, a zombie that can explode and damage plants in the process. The content update will bring sixteen additional levels to Plants vs. Zombies 2.
Modern Day Part 2 also includes the premium Escape Root plant, which can substitute itself for other types of plants. Grimrose, a plant that’s good at hiding, and Dusk-lobber, a plant that shoots into multiple lanes, are new additions to the update as well.
Check out the trailer for Valenbrainz above and let us know what you think in the comments. Personally, we think it’s cute. Don’t you? It seems both spooky and romantic at the same time.
