Unofficial Crash Bandicoot Game Being Developed on Unreal Engine 4

January 4, 2016 by Stephen Daly

Will there ever be a new Crash? This may be the closest we get.

YouTuber Anisotropic is creating an unofficial Crash Bandicoot game using Epic's Unreal Engine 4.

While a work-in-progress, you can check out prototype footage of the videos below. The creator will be sharing additional updates throughout the week.

The last official entry in the series was 2010's Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2 for iOS devices. Crash Bandicoot is currently owned by Activision and was originally developed by Naughty Dog.

PlayStation president Andrew House said in 2014 that Sony is interested in reviving the franchise is possible and Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells has said that he'd like to work on the series again but doesn't think it's feasible.

Naughty Dog's next game is PS4 exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
