The Xbox One store has a tease for what’s coming up in Call of Duty Black Ops 3’s DLC.
In the store listing for the Season Pass, they share this description:
The Call of Duty®: Black Ops III Season Pass delivers 4 epic DLC map packs in 2016 with all-new multiplayer content, including re-imagined fan-favorite maps from Call of Duty®: World at War and the Call of Duty®: Black Ops series, plus thrilling Treyarch Zombies content, all for one great price.
So, Treyarch seems to be bringing back some of their old work back, with maps from Call of Duty: World at War and the other Call of Duty: Black Ops games. This is a notable choice, because they could have just as easily made completely new maps using the same ideas.
So, is it just a flashback, and a call for nostalgia from Treyarch? Or is there something more logical behind it? Maybe Treyarch wants fans to rediscover the maps with Call of Duty Black Ops 3’s new movement system, or chance the one shot kills.
What do you think is the rationale behind bringing these old maps back? What maps would you like to play on personally? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is due for release on November 6, 2015 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
