Journey Collector’s Edition, a collection of thatgamecompany’s Journey, Flower, and Flow, is now available on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe for $24.99/€24.99/£19.99. Physical copies of Journey Collector’s Edition for PS4 are available in Europe now (Oct. 2 for the UK and Ireland). North American players will have to resort to a digital purchase.
The same collection was also released on PlayStation 3 in 2012 and while Flower and Flow have been available on PS4 since 2013, it wasn’t until this past July that Journey was ported to PS4. The US PlayStation Blog notes that picking up Journey Collector’s Edition for PS4 will entitle you to PS3 and PS Vita copies of Flow and Flower “later this week.” (Note: This promotion will likely only apply to those that buy Journey Collector’s Edition digitally (via PSN), as PlayStation would have no way to validate a physical copy for a singular consumer).
Journey boasts a Grammy-nominated soundtrack (a first for a video game) by composer Austin Wintory, who faced fines from the American Federation of Musicians for his work on The Banner Saga due to a legal clause that prevents union members from recording in non-union auspices (The Banner Saga’s soundtrack was recorded in Texas). Wintory refused to pay the fine and instead wrote a check to Education Through Music – Los Angeles for the same amount.
