Ubisoft has just released a new story trailer for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate to get you up to speed with what’s happening in London. It also happens to be extremely stylized and looks a lot like something out of a Guy Ritchie movie.
Set in the year 1868, during the height of the Industrial Revolution, players must take on the roles of Jacob and Evie Frye, two gangster assassins who will recruit their gang and fight for justice for the common man against the fat cat industrialists who care only about exploiting the working class for profit. Together, they will lead the underworld to take back London in what Ubisoft describes as a “visceral adventure filled with action, intrigue, and brutal combat.”
We’re down with that.
The game will feature a revamped combat system that emphasizes the brutality of fist-fighting. You’ll also have a wide range of weapons at your disposal, including the kukri knife, brass knuckles, and sword cane.
In addition, you’ll have access to a new rope launcher utility that allows you to scale buildings in seconds or take your enemies down from a distance.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be released across the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms on October 23, followed by the PC some weeks later.
