Shockingly different. Apples and oranges. https://t.co/s5K97UxmMr

There’s a big reason why the DC Comics Extended Universe of films is in much more “disarray” than the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And it’s about a word called “Faith”. When Warner Bros started the DCEU, they hired Zack Snyder to make a vision for their movie universe, and he did that. But starting with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, WB started to interfere with everything because it wasn’t “matching the reception of the MCU”. And that also led to the Suicide Squad film being heavily altered, which brings us to the petition today to “Release the Ayer Cut”.
The “Ayer Cut” is a reference to the director, David Ayer, who took the brunt of the abuse after the Suicide Squad movie was panned by critics and fans alike (yet still made over $700 million at the box office…) and just like the legendary Snyder Cut petition, fans are trying to get the newly merged Warner Bros Discovery to release the true cut of the film. To that end, those who are for the release have been asking David Ayer a lot of questions about how different the film is. And as you can see in the tweet above, he feels it’s “apples to oranges”. He was also asked about what it would take to get the cut out, to which he replied:
No need for reshoots. Just some VFX work. https://t.co/gOel5bP9OS

Other things he noted were that he did work with Zack Snyder to ensure that things “lined up in the universe’, and even tweeted out a new picture of Jared Leto as the Joker and said that “he rocked it, but nobody knows”.
If you don’t know, today is the two-year anniversary of the Snyder Cut being announced as coming out to the world. So fans are very much hoping to repeat history so that David Ayer can FINALLY have his chance to show his film.
