The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt’s patch 1.08 went live for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last week. With the benefit of time, it can now be confirmed that this patch brings the game to its best shape ever.
Of course, gamers know very well patch 1.07 introduced issues with framerate. The issues peaked on the Xbox One, where entering the Crookback Bog dips framerate down to as much as 20 FPS.
Patch 1.08 brings framerate back up, all the way back to patch 1.05. Not only that, but all the enhancements and improvements from patch 1.07 were retained.
Now, it’s worth noting that Crookback Bog on the PlayStation 4 version is hardlocked at 20 FPS, and so patch 1.08 ensure the Xbox One version gets better framerate performance for this section. In different sections of the game, the PlayStation 4 version gets framerates back up to 30 FPS.
In spite of the improvements, some issues and bugs still remain in terms of performance. At this point, it may be doubtful that CD Projekt RED will resolve these issues. Of course, it would be great if they did, but they may simply move on to other projects, including the highly awaited Cyberpunk 2077.
