The Banner Saga isn't the only game set to turn into a tabletop game. CD Projekt Red has announced today that they are teaming up with R.Talsorian Games, the makers of Cyberpunk 2020, to produce a pen and paper RPG.
The Witcher Role-Playing Game will enable tabletop RPG fans to recreate characters from the Witcher series and partake in new adventures set in the world of Rivia. The game is powered by the Fuzion ruleset, which was made popular by Cyberpunk 2020. The game is set to feature magic, gear and weapons from the entire Witcher series, and a bestiary of monsters that players will have to go up against during their adventures.
The RPG is being developed as a complete system, replete with all the necessary tools to create and play out adventures. According to CD Projekt Red, players will be able to role-play as anything from a battle-hardened monster hunter to a merchant kingpin in control of a vast network of contacts.
It's slated for a mid-2016 release. Pricing and availability details will be revealed in the future.
CD Projekt Red previously acquired the license to the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG to create Cyberpunk 2077. Development of Cyberpunk 2077 is currently underway, with plans to release the game on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
