ArtCraft Entertainment, developer of upcoimg MMO Crowfall, has announced that it will be licensing Voxel Farm technology for its game, which sounds a bit like a Game of Thrones simulator in that it focuses on "political alliances and feudal conquest".
Voxel technology has been incorporated in Minecraft but ArtCraft co-founder and creative director J. Todd Coleman says that while most developers use the tech for creation, Crowfall will use if for destruction. "We're creating sandcastles for the players to kick over," he commented.
“Our goal with Crowfall is to create an online experience where the World is a completely dynamic world,” Gordon Walton, co-founder and President of ArtCraft, added. “We want to create hundreds of unique worlds, with unique maps – mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, dungeons, ruins – for players to explore and destroy. The Voxel Farm technology gives us the power to do exactly that.”
ArtCraft are currently accepting beta applications for Crowfall on their website.
