Earlier this year, a game called J-Stars Victory VS released in Japan. It's a crossover 3D fighting that features characters from all the most popular Shonen Jump manga, such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, YuYu Hakusho, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and more. At the time, no one thought that it would make the leap across the ocean onto our shores, but Bandai Namco confirmed that an updated build, now called J-Stars Victory VS+, will indeed arrive here next summer.
Why was a localization such a long shot? Because although all these properties are under the Shonen Jump banner in Japan, their rights are often split among various distributors in the West. This is the reason why Jump Super Stars on Nintendo DS never left Japan — it would have been too pricey to get all the companies to play ball. However, it seems that Bandai Namco has managed to make some magic happen. Unfortunately, not all the characters from the original game will be present, but in exchange, VS+ will have a brand-new arcade mode.
J-Stars Victory VS+ will hit PS4, PS3, and PS Vita in Summer 2015.
