Rockstar Games has finally announced long-awaited heists for Grand Theft Auto Online, which are set to arrive in early 2015.
Heists were revamped so that every aspect, including the perspectives of the four players, was entertaining and varied to play, which is why they've taken so long to be implemented.
"… Our initial attempts at Heists turned out to be a lot of fun for one or two players while other players were getting left on the sidelines," Rockstar's mission designer Imran Sarwar explained in an IGN interview.
To take part in heists, you must be rank 12 or higher. The Leader accepts the job Lester, and then makes all of the arrangements – choosing a crew, designating player roles, agreeting cuts, and providing any up-front cash that's required.
It's not a simple matter though, as you'll need to go through some preperations first. For example, you might need to find a way into a bank or steal a getaway car before reaching the heists' big finale.
Five heist "strands" will be available at launch, with 20 missions and approximately 20 hours of gameplay, Sarwar revealed. Heists will be replayable, and players can unlock extra rewards for completing them in a particular way.
Grand Theft Auto 5 launches on PC in January, so hopefully players won't be waiting too much longer after that to get their hands on heists.
