When you arrive in the Hinterlands, you will want to keep your eyes and ears out for the Master of Horses side quest, found in the far West. This one isn’t that hard at all: talk to the Horsemaster in there and agree to make the road safe for his horses. In turn, he will give you a Fereldean Forder.
Earning a Dracolisk Mount is as simple, but not necessarily as easy to accomplish. For this, you want to complete the Hunter Shade mission, but killing mini dragons all across Thedas. You will earn the Dracolisk when you return to the wartable.
